After this conversation with Dr. Lydia, you decide to make a presentation to all the new instructors at the next faculty meeting about learning principles.

In a PowerPoint presentation, differentiate between learning principles to ensure valid and reliable assessment of learning. Include the following topics:

· The definitions of valid assessment and reliable assessment and why both are important in learning and its measurement.

· Externally motivating factors for participation, such as rewards and consequences. Can these be helpful or harmful to learning?

· Exam preparation versus application of information to the learners' real world. What are the benefits of each? Is there a wrong approach?

· Active and collaborative learning experiences. How is it helpful and how can its absence be harmful to learning?
